Vacay Vibes | Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

Hello everyone! It’s Kylie back with you all with another layout featuring the SUNKISSED collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I wanted to create a layout fairly simplistic, centred around my photo of a fun Summer’s Day. Whilst I love working with cut files and mixed media, for this layout I wanted to work solely with the beauty of the collection and it’s stunning colour palette.

The FEELING FINE paper is one of my favourites and the perfect back drop against a white background. I added a one inch strip to the bottom of some white cardstock and a 6 inch strip to the top. I cut out the rainbow border from the FUN IN THE SUN  paper to add over the join through the middle of my page.

My photo was trimmed down to 5.75″x 3.75″ so that I could add a pink mat card cut to 6″x 4″.This gave it the perfect amount of frame showing behind. From the floral die cut pack I layered several blooms around my photo for balance. Some were added with foam adhesive squares so that they had a dimensional appeal.

I used one of the 3″x 4″pocket cards as a title for my page. It was adhered to some more of the FELLING FINE  paper on the reverse side and cut into a tag. More of the die cuts were also added surrounding the tag as well as a string tie.

To complete my page I added a second title using the clear stickers. I love the burst of colour these have over white and almost look seamless.

I hope my layout today has you feeling all Summery and a little inspired for your own creative time.

Take care,

Kylie.

Photo Frame Magnets | We R memory Keepers.

Hello friends! It’s Kylie with you today with a fun crafty project that’s perfect for Father’s Day, featuring the new Makers Glue Gun by We R Memory Keepers. For me personally, I use a glue gun a lot in many of my crafty projects. I love that the glue is strong and pretty much instant drying. But I used to struggle with my glue gun not standing upright on my desk and then having glue run everywhere including all over my glue gun! What I love most about the Makers Glue Gun is the caddy holder it stands in. Not only does it keep my glue gun upright but it also has storage for my glue sticks as well as a handy drip mat and scraping tool which makes it easily cleanable!

Here is a little look at the completed Photo Frame Magnets I have created:-

To create these photo frames you will need a few supplies handy. The Makers Glue Gun and glue sticks of course, as well as 4 pieces of square paper cut to 3″x 3″. (Note- You can make these frames to any size you like, but this measurement suited me for the size I was after.) You will also need some magnets, plain cardstock and your favourite embellishments.

To begin, add a glue stick into the glue gun and allow to heat up in its caddy. Whilst it’s heating, trim your papers to size and prepare them for gluing. There is a very simple fold technique used in creating these frames which I have shared in a video tutorial below. Once you master it, you will find these frames super quick to create.

Once all four pieces of the frame have been folded it is time to glue them together. The straight edge of each piece must be on the outside edge of each side of the frame to form a neat square. Each piece tucks neatly in behind the previous, held together by a small dob of hot glue.

My photos were resized using my Silhouette Cameo software and printed just on my home printer before being adhered to the back of each frame in place. For a neat finish, I added a square of plain cardstock over the back before using the hot glue again to adhere the magnet. All that is left to do next is add some embellishments to enhance the front of the frames.

So that you can see how I folded and created my frames exactly, here is a short video tutorial-

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my Father’s Day crafty project today and you try making some for yourself! Until next time, take care!

Beautiful Moments | Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

Hello everyone! It’s Kylie back with you today for another ‘Throwback Thursday’ feature for Cocoa Vanilla. I love to go back through my paper stash and choose a past collection to create with and for todays layout I selected the forever beautiful ‘MIDNIGHT’ collection. I’ve always loved the navy and pink colour combinations to this range and swoon over the mason jar and floral die cuts. So much beauty!

I opted for a darker toned background with the BLOOM & GROW paper and have layered pieces of SOPHISTICATED and ALL THE THINGS papers to the top third of my page. The edges have all been distressed a little to feature a nice amount of texture.

The best part about rummaging around through your craft supplies, like I was when I found my ‘MIDNIGHT’ stash, is all the other cool stuff you find that you may of forgotten about….(who me??) Let’s chat about paper doilies. I love them. I love the interest they can add to a project and there are so many ways you can incorporate them into a project. I found some smaller sized doilies and have wrapped each side of my photo to show a small lacey edge overlapping. It provided a fab backdrop for the floral die cuts I layered over the top.

For balance, I also added another doily with more die cuts to the lower left corner of my page.

To complete my page I added a lovely oversized title from the chipboard die cut pack to below my photo. It really seemed to tie in the theme of my photo and page design nicely! I used some foam adhesive squares to raise the title a little and make it seem as though it was ‘floating’ above my page.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. I hope you have enjoyed taking a walk down memory lane and seeing the MIDNIGHT collection in use once more. Maybe my design has inspired you just a little to use some more of your past collections too! Until next time,

Kylie. xo
