Decorative Scrapbooking with Edge Punches | WRMK

Hello friends! It’s Kylie with you today, sharing a ‘Graduation’ themed scrapbooking layout I created using decorative We R Memory Keepers Edge Punches. You can create so much dimension and texture by using various punch designs within a layout.

To begin I used the ‘Arches, Daisy and Lace’ edge punches on varying papers. Unlock the punch by sliding the button on the back. Insert the paper into the punch and press down to punch out the pattern. Use the printed alignment guide to help create seamless and continuous border patterns. Once I had punched each edge, I used my All-In-One tool, to trim the punched edges into approximately 1.5″wide strips.

I layered each strip over each other onto the background of my layout using double sided adhesive tape. Once in place I gently used my fingernails to lift out and ruffle each edge slightly. This gives a little more texture to my page design.

Once in place all I needed to do was add my photo and a few embellishments to capture a special memory from Graduation Day! I love the effect of the varying patterns next to each other from the edge punches. The colors, design and texture from the edge punches almost makes the paper look like layers of fabric.

So you can see how I used my edge punches exactly in creating this layout, I have also filmed a short process video-:

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope see my layout has given you a little inspiration for creating a project with the decorative edge punches too!

Super Rad | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hello Cocoa Vanilla fans. It’s Kylie back with you today with a new layout I have created with the Legendary collection for Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I have so many photos of my son to scrapbook and knew that the Legendary collection, combined with a fun cut file which has been designed by Cut To You, would be perfect together.

I have always loved the colour palette of the ‘Legendary’ collection and have used the beautiful ‘OFFBEAT’ paper as my background. I tore a 1.5 inch strip off the top of my page and added a piece of ‘ALL STAR’ paper as a contrast. My cut file was backed using both sides of the ‘WILD ONE’ paper.

I love that this particular cut file has a frame for positioning your photo. I cut down my 4″x 6″ photo to fit within the frame before adhering the cut file to the background with some foam adhesive squares. From the die cut pack I added a few extra stars surrounding my photo for balance.

Because I loves me a BIG title, the die cut title pack was perfect for constructing something well suited to the theme of my layout. These were also added, overlapping my photo a little with foam adhesive squares.

To complete my page I used a white marker pen to freehand draw a border around my page. This detail may only seem faint but it frames my completed page perfectly.

I have also filmed a short process video where you can watch exactly how my page came together-

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!

Smiles For Miles | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hello everybody! It’s Kylie back with you all today and I have another new layout to share featuring the ‘Sunkissed’ collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. The theme for today’s blog post was to share my signature style of scrapbooking. For me it’s about layers and flowers. Always flowers. To create paper flowers brings me so much happiness and I love nothing more than to add them into my scrapbooking layouts as I have for todays design. Whilst they can be time consuming, I actually find it relaxing to sit and bring all of the layers together to form a pretty paper bloom. I created these flowers today using a cut file by Paige Evans.

I like to also build layers into a page design. To have something going on in the background, which in this case is some die cut lattice work. I had this particular die in my craft stash and I ran it through my Sizzix machine using white cardstock. It has created some interest behind my paper flowers and breaks up the background a little. It also adds some texture and dimension to my page.

When it comes to constructing my paper flowers I really don’t do a lot to them. I simply curly each petal slightly before gluing each layer together. These particular flowers have even layers each to them and I have centred each of them with an enamel adhesive dot which were from the ‘Legendary’ collection.

The floral die cut pack from the ‘Sunkissed’ collection is so gorgeous and I have adhered some extra blooms as well as some greenery in the form of the die cut leaves amongst my layered flowers. I created a title for my page from my favourite gold glitter foam stickers as well as add in some smaller phrases from the sticker sheet to complete my page.

My photo for this layout was printed to 3″x 4″ in size and in black and white. There are usually two reasons I have if I print in black and white. One if the colours in the photo don’t match the paper collection I wish to use or as in this case, if I have a lot of colour in my page. I want my eye to still be drawn to the image.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. I hope you have enjoyed reading about my layout and what I consider to be my signature style.

Until next time,

Kylie.
