Hello friends! I’m SO excited to be sharing my latest layout featuring the new Horizon collection by Paige Evans for Pink Paislee. With so many beautiful coloured papers to choose from I decided I wanted to have a pink based themed. For my background I selected Paper 02 for its pastel appeal. I then knew I wanted to add in bright bursts of colour in the form of these beautiful layered flowers and leaves. They are a Cut File also designed by Paige which I cut from several varying prints. Here is a little look at my completed work:

I cut the flowers in two different sizes and colour themes. When adhering them together I took the time to curl each petal up slightly, giving them a lovely ruffled texture and dimension. The leaves I gently folded inward and they were added to give balance to my flowers as well as filling any little space. Once I was happy with their position I also added in some of the gorgeous Thickers Chipboard stickers. I simply adore the little bird!

Once I had nestled my photo amongst the blooms I added in a title with the Alpha Thickers. The burst of yellow and blue really help make it stand out. I also used the Puffy Icon and Phrase stickers to add a small sub-title above.

I really like adding journaling to my layouts but have never been a fan of my handwriting, so have done so by typing it. I’ve cut apart each strip before adding them into the bottom corner. I quite like the effect of adding it at different angles and without being too neat about it.

As my layout was coming together I was loving seeing all the layers and dimension it has! The combination of pinks, corals, and blues really supported the theme of my photo nicely.

Once my layout was complete I checked it had good balance and went in and added several more leaves where I felt it was needed. It’s always a good idea to admire your work from a distance when you are checking the completed result. It’s amazing the little details you can pick up that you may of missed. Without even realising until it was complete, I loved how it had an almost tropical vibe.

Heart and Soul layout | Pink Paislee

Hello everyone, I’m back today on the blog sharing my latest layout with you all. I’ve been so excited to create with Paige Evans new Horizon collection by Pink Paislee My layout also features some of Paige’s fun cut files too. I had a photo of my daughter when she was a little younger that I wanted to scrap, so the colours and designs of Horizon were perfect for capturing a favourite memory of mine.

Heart & Soul photo 1 (1)

As I like to do a lot of the time, I chose two cut files for my layout. A ‘background’ cut file and a ‘prominent’ cut file. I used Paige’s Poppy cut file as the background and my prominent design was her Unicorn cut file. I backed them with lots of different colour combos – there are so many different ones to choose from!

Heart & Soul photo 4

For my background paper I selected Paper 08 and decided to create a softer effect by applying a washed background. I applied Heavy White Gesso with a spatula, keeping it away from the edges and softened the effect by using a sponge to blend any hard edges before adding some watercolour paint splatters. Whilst you can’t see a lot of this technique in my completed layout, it does add to the overall effect.

Heart & Soul photo 3 (1)

I’ve adhered the Poppy cut file flat to the background page and the Unicorn has been adhered with foam tape so it sits higher. This gives it a lot of dimension and gives the illusion of being in the foreground. I added in some of the beautiful floral die cuts as well as some punched flowers I created with the papers. Having some flowers tucked behind the Unicorn’s ear made her look like she was wearing a flower crown.

Heart & Soul photo 5

Using a die from my stash I punched lots of layered flowers for around the Unicorn’s neck. I layered them together and curled some of the petals up a little for some height. Once I was happy with the balance of them, I tucked in some punched leaves as well.

Heart and Soul photo 6

Paper 20 is full of lovely phrase sentiments which I fussy cut out to add as a title for my page. These were added with more foam tape squares so they sat up from the background too. The photo I have used was a favourite of mine and I decided to print it in black and white to help set it apart from the bright colours of my design. It looked like it was out on its own though when I first added it, so I have added in another small cluster of flowers bringing it into the completed flow of my layout.

Happy Little Moments | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hey friends! I’m back today to share another layout I have created with the stunning new ‘HAPPINESS’ collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I was so excited to learn there are cut files designed by our DT’s super talented Gwen that co-ordinate with the ‘Happiness’ collection. Cut files are some of my most favourite things to create with and I have centred my latest layout around them. You can download these cut files for FREE HERE.

I decided on using a white background for my layout so that the colours would really ‘pop’ against it and added a colourful frame using the ‘Botanical Bliss’ paper. To give a nice edge to my layout I then added some machine stitching to my white background edge.I enlarged the wreath cut file so that it would fill a good portion of my page and cut it from the ‘Good Vibes’ paper. Using a small amount of glue I adhered it to my background being careful to make sure it was centred.

April1 (1)

Next I backed my floral cut files before adding them over the top of my wreath at opposite angles.I again chose to adhere these flat to the background so that I could use other elements to add dimension. From the die cuts I took the wreath circle and used it as a frame over my photo. This was added with foam tape for height and it was at this point I started adding more floral die cuts so they looked to ‘blend’ with my cut file blooms.

april2 (1)

I used the smaller floral cut file opposite my photo and created a neat little cluster with more of the die cuts.It added a lovely balance to my completed layout.

april3 (1)

The ‘Sweet’ phrase from the die cut titles pack was added to the bottom of my layout with foam tape and I also added some more little flower bloom die cuts.

april5 (1)

The cute little heart frame cut files were perfect to add to my wreath and I finished off my layout with some of the lovely Butterflies.

Uniquely Creative kits | Guest Designer

Hello friends! Recently I was asked to be a guest designer for Uniquely Creative here in Australia for March. I was super happy to accept and loved receiving a kit to work with for the month. Each kit has been beautifully curated and are really generous with supplies. A lot of the supplies are the exclusive brand of Uniquely Creative such as the dies and laser cuts just to name a few, which is super impressive.

The March scrapbooking kit was titled ‘Evergreen’ and I quickly got to work with it! This first layout featured an exclusive Laser Cut chipboard title to which I added some watercolour paint to. The lace was also featured in the kit….and SO beautiful to work with. This layout certainly took on a Shabby Chic vibe with lots of layers.

BLOOM Completed Image

My second layout featured some neatly cut geometrical squares. A grid format is one of my most favourite ways to create a page so this isn’t the first time I have worked a format like this. The ‘Evergreen’ kit really suited this design though and I had a lot of fun tucking in some of the Succulents cut from the metal dies as well as the Kaisercraft collectables included.Lots of machine stitching also feature in this layout.

Love Layout

I also made a card!….I know ….Don’t faint. I’m not a huge card maker and I’m not really sure why? But I couldn’t resist the burlap doily or paper blooms for this design.

Birthday Wishes card Photo 1

This layout was my final piece for the month and I have also filmed a short process video which you can check out HERE.

You Are Lovely | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hi lovelies! Today I am sharing some of my Traveller’s Notebook pages. I’m really excited because I have been creating with the all new ‘Happiness’ collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. It is so beautiful and perfect for making my pages stand out thanks to the gorgeous colour palette.

I really wanted to focus on the 6 x 8 inch paper pad for my pages as it was the perfect size for trimming down and layering throughout my TN.The small amount of excess I trimmed off would be great for backing a photo or using as a decorative border, so it limits waste.

march1 (1)

I chose co-ordinating papers to line my TN pages, making sure I left a small border around the edge. Not only does this frame the pages nicely but it helps prevent the pages being too bulky.Especially if I were to of taken it right into the spine of my TN. I used double sided tape to adhere the paper in rather than glue which could make the page buckle. On this double page spread I selected the circle frame die cut to support my photo. I used it as a guide to cut my photo down to fit and loved how it looked like a little window once completed.

March2 (1)

As always the floral die cuts are so pretty and I have layered them neatly to fill one of my corners. A small detail I have included is a free hand border I drew with a white pen.It adds a lovely soft touch to the overall balance of my pages.

March3 (2)

There is so many pretty papers to choose from in the Happiness collection. These navy ones were some of my most favourite. I created a ‘split’ page on the right by adding a lift up flap over my photo. The floral circle and butterfly die cut added a nice balance to the paper edge.

March4 (1)

Peek a boo! There’s another photo hiding under there! I added the lift up flap by cutting a piece of co-ordinating paper the same width as the backing only shorter. I then folded over a 1cm edge and adhered it down with double sided tape.

March5 (1)

I’ve used another of the borders from the die cut pack to support my photo and layered more pretty blooms!

March6 (1)

The die cut titles make it so easy to frame a project. There are so many combos you can choose to build a title that suits your theme. I selected a more pastel paper for each page but highlighted the borders this time with a black marker.

March7 (2)

The typed phrase stickers from the Accessory Stickers finished off my pages nicely. I like to layer them over the top of my photos for a fun effect.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my latest design work today and it inspires you a little with your own creative projects.

Until next time,

Precious | Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

Hello lovelies!

I am so excited to be able to share my first layout as part of the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Design Team today! I created my layout with the divine ‘More Than Words’ collection.

I created my layout around the beautiful Butterfly cut file designed by Paige Evans which I found via the Silhouette store HERE. I backed it with lots of contrasting pastel papers. For my background, I added a half triangle of white card stock and added a machine stitched border.By doing this it also helped my Butterfly really stand out.

feb2 (1)

I used lots of dies and punches from my stash to create my layered flowers.Once I had glued them together I curled the petals of each just a little and centred them with an enamel dot. I also added some of the flower die cuts from the collection as well.

I punched some different styled leaves and added them in and around my blooms for balance.feb4

To finish off my layout I added one of the lovely chipboard stickers as a title to the top left side.

Once completed I loved the texture and dimension my layout had.

Hello my Scrappy friends! I have been busy with SO many festive projects these past few weeks, that today I decided to have a little break from all the red & green and tinsel themes to have a play with the new Whimsical collection by Pink Paislee. Flowers really are my favourite and I worked with a divine floral cut file by Paige Evans. Paige also created the beautiful Whimsical collection- I love all the happy, bright colours!

Here is a little look at my completed layout:-

Whimsical 1

To add some ‘extra’ colour to my page I trimmed off 1.5cm from one side and added some of the striped, coloured paper as a border. I ruffled the edge a little just with my fingers to soften the overall look.

whimsical 4

I wanted as much colour as possible for my layout, so I backed my cut file with many of the papers. I then adhered it to my page with foam tape to give it a multi dimensional appearance.

whimsical 5

I also added in some of the floral die cuts underneath my cut file to fill in any open space.

whimsical 6

Love all that colour!

Once I had added my title with the gorgeous co-ordinating Alpha Thickers, I spritzed a tiny amount of pink watercolour to the background- Being very careful not to get it on my photo etc.

Hope you have enjoyed seeing my layout today! Until next time,
